Students will get a million dollar budget. They will have to "purchase" an item from every category, being sure to not go over budget. They have to subtract across zero do figure out how much is left in their budget after every purchase. With my class we ended up making posters. We cut out each option that they chose. then gluing those and the worksheet on a green poster paper. We also printed out a million dollar bill and glue a picture of their face where the president would go on a dollar bil

Going on a U.S. Concert Tour!

Students will practice using multiplication in a practical way that they will love. Students will pick a favorite band, decide which U.S. cities they will tour to, find venues in those cities online, decide on ticket pricing, and then use multiplication to figure out how much would be made at each venue if they were sold out. This not only is fun, it is also eye-opening as they see how much their favorite musicians can profit in ticket sales.
