Create a Playlist for Macbeth
Students are asked to create a 5 song playlist which corresponds with Shakespeare's Macbeth. Each entry must include bits of the song's lyrics and a 4-5 sentence analysis to explain how the lyrics are relevant to a specified scene in Macbeth. Students can present their work in the form of a physical booklet or a Powerpoint, with either option containing graphics which visually support the analyses presented.

To get kids to think about the relevance of poetry, I use the TPCASTT method for bellringer activities and tie the poems into the literature we study. "Roll Away Your Stone," by Mumford and Sons, is a great example of how pop culture relates to Shakespeare. Plus I really like the song. And Macbeth.

Dr Jekyll and My Hyde plot rap and quotation gap fill.Students listen to the plot rap (play sound but don't display the video) containing over 40 quotations and try to insert the missing quotations into the rap (see bottom of page). Students can then read the full version and watch the video to check their answers.
