This is a great activity to introduce students to Ancient India the civilization of Mohenjo-Daro!

Persuasive speaking activity/game - The Mafia Game
This persuasive speaking game will engage your students and get them debating to try and capture the mafia members.
Students are given a random card and then take on the role of a mafia member, police, nurse, vigilante, or citizen. The class must then work together to try and capture the mafia, through class debates and votes before the mafia have killed everyone.

Assembled here are eight individual resources used with 8th graders to conduct a mock trial based on Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart”.
