As The Cell Turns - The Drama of Life -Science Reader's Theater Script

Created by

This is an original Reader's Theater script, based on the organelles of the animal cell and their function. Your students will enjoy playing the parts of the living cell as they argue about who is the most important and learn how all the parts of the cell work together. This cross-curricular science script can be used in reading class as a non-fiction work, or in science while studying the cell. Along with the script, name tags for each organelle are included with an icon chosen to help stu

History of Immigration Readers Theater

This readers theater explains the history of immigration to the United States. I have used it as a whole class language arts/history activity by numbering each line. My students all have numbers so it is easy for them to see what part they have to say. Each line is short as to keep the reading moving. The script can be adapted for any number of students by editing the numbers next to each line. I have used this readers theater as an introduction to a unit as well as a final wrap-up.

This Reader's Theater is for 3 students. This is based on the fairy tale by a similar name. This version focuses on the important role shoes played in the story. In the script, a mother is out shopping with her daughter and tells her that they need to consider the shoe because it is important. The daughter tells her that she doesn’t think so. The mother disagrees and tells her to think of Cinderella’s story. Cinderella appears to help out and they talk about what happened and how important the s

Benjamin Franklin Readers Theater Script- Adapted-American Heroes by Lynn Green

Teachers, I wanted to teach my First Grade students the important Social Studies information about Benjamin Franklin as well as have them practice reading informational texts from our little "American Heroes" books by Lynne Green. I decided to adapt the text from the book into a Readers Theater script. The text from the book was not arranged in chronological order despite the fact that our students need to order historical information that way on a timeline. I arranged the biographical i

This short text discusses some of the ways people can differ from each other, and says those differences are OK. You could read it to your class as part of a broader discussion. (What others ways can people be different? How are you different from your friends?) For an activity, students could work independently or collaboratively, to illustrate the text and/or write their own responses.
