This is a 2 page description/procedure/rubric for a Rube Goldberg project. I gave my class 2 full weeks to work on this. They are provided with minimal materials, the rest is gathered from home (recyclable materials, toys, etc..). A PowerPoint presenation accompanies the Rube Goldberg machine. My students LOVED doing this and they learned a lot about simple machines as well.

Collisions and Newton’s Third Law of Motion are explored during this 4 Section lab activity dealing with elastic and inelastic collisions. Students start with an introduction passage and then they use balls of varying masses to roll down ramps towards a collision. They then roll balls of different masses down a ramp to stationary balls of different masses. The third and fourth section involve repeating the lab with balls of clay of different masses.
