Read All About My Summer Break **First Week of School Writing Activity**
This activity is intended to be used during the first week of school.
Students will brainstorm events from their summer break and organize them before writing them into a short paper. Students are given detailed directions, a brainstorming page (graphic organizer) and final draft paper for them to write their final draft about their summer.

Cinderella Compare/Contrast Dodecahedron Project
Students are to read several versions of Cinderella (from a variety of cultures) and choose two stories to compare and contrast. Students then construct a dodecahedron by completing a writing task on each of the twelve faces. The project addresses comparing, contrasting, summarizing and point of view.
