I use these tools and strategies every day with 7th and 8th graders, but especially frequently in Title I classes, Academic Intervention Services, and tutoring. I also give many of these tools to parents of struggling readers so that students have consistent and effective st

I LOVE this project. It requires students to create a multi-level video game. I like to use it after a history unit for a culminating activity. I've also used it for a Literature Circles project. It makes a great post-reading project. It is a 10 page booklet requiring students to design a video game with a protagonist, antagonist, level designs, enemies, and even a final boss. A rubric is included on the last page. Just print the slides (double-sided) and fold and you're ready to go.
