Identity / Culture Community Interview Assignment
This assignment can be used during many units (I used as a culminating project after reading Their Eyes Were Watching God). This project asks students to interview someone in their community about the multiple facets of their identity, how these have contributed to their power and privilege (or lack thereof), etc. Part II of the assignment asks students to write up the results of this interview in a synthesis paper, analyzing their own identities and embedding quotes from their interviewee.

Holocaust Group Genocide - AVID Strategy Marking the Text
