The Struggle for Girl Empowerment in China
Students will be able to
- explain the history of the women’s rights struggle in China and identify key figures in Chinese feminist history,
- evaluate what are the current issues facing girls and women in China today,
- work collaboratively to debate the Family Planning Policy,
- analyze art from today and its meaning for women empowerment in current Chinese society, and
- create feminist posters that reflect Chinese history of women’s rights as well as it current concerns.
