Cooperative Learning Strategy cards
PLEASE BE SURE YOU HAVE MICROSOFT 2010 OR HIGHER BEFORE DOWNLOADING.
These are cooperative learning strategies created by Kagan. I simply made a reference card to introduce to the students and post on your wall for future reference. The have a title of the strategy, a picture and description of the strategy at the bottom. You can print them as a full page of smaller to use as flash cards.

Regulation Station Binder 1

Guitar Cut-out (Interest Inventory)
Guitar Cut-out is sized to fit standard sized paper. It is formatted on Microsoft Excel (you need this program to open the file!). It is in 2 different slides/pages, so the top has to be pasted to the guitar body. Guitar contains text boxes filled with 8 "pre-made" questions and is designed for an Interest Inventory, but you can change questions to suit your own needs.

Unplugged Coding Activity
Ever wondered how to teach coding without a computer? It happened to me, so I created my own codes from scratch. You can break your students into teams and give them a set of codes to program the teacher or a group member through a maze. I used masking tape and created a maze throughout the lab. These codes can be printed off using different colored cardstock and laminated for durability. Treble Clef Pitch Board Game
This game was designed for my students to practice pitch reading. You will need a dice and game piece. I have used this board with k-12 but I am sure you could use it with adults. This does not teach pitch just allowes for practice. Can be put on overhead and played with teams in class.

Down By the Bay Activity
This is a two-part activity that goes along with the well-known rhyming song, Down by the Bay.
Page one allows room for determining and writing the missing rhyming word.
Page two allows the student to cut out the numbers and glue the correct number to the correct picture- to match with page one.
I would suggest listening to the song first, then completing this activity.
It is always a favorite lesson in my classroom!

Christmas Rhythm Sort & Ostinato Composition
Students will have fun creating ostinato patterns with their favorite Christmas words! Sort the rhythm of the words into the boxes, then compose four rhythmic osinato patterns and perform them for the class. You can add instruments, melody, whatever you like!

Students need to think of something having to do with Halloween (skull, bat, skeleton, jack-o-lantern) and think of the rhythm it makes (ex- "skull" = quarter note).
