ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Kendra Ann Thomas has been writing stories since she was in Mrs. Jewell’s first grade class for dyslexic learners. After learning to remove the labels of her disability, she went on to become a writer, teacher, theatre director, principal, and counselor. All totaled, she has written over a dozen plays in many genres over the years. She is the author of the The Struggles, 2014 winner of the A+ Playwriting Contest for Teachers from Pioneer Drama Service and Bus Stop, which received the 2022 AATE Distinguished Play Award. Thomas is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and Lamar University, where she obtained her doctorate in Education. She lives in Terrell, Texas, with her daughter where she enjoys working with her ‘drama babies’ and writing young adult plays for students across the world. In 2022, Dr. Thomas’ last name changed to Kendra Robyn Kvale, her mother’s maiden name, but she continues to write under Thomas.
