My teaching experience is varied. I spent over twenty years homeschooling our four children from kindergarten through high school. I could have used Teachers Pay Teachers then! During those years, I offered ELA classes to homeschooling families. After my youngest child went to college, I put my formal training into practice teaching sophomore and junior English at a public high school. I then taught history, health, writing workshop, and English to 8th, 9th, and 10th-graders at a private school. I recently left the classroom to pursue writing full time.
I absolutely love seeing a student's eyes light up during those "Aha!" moments of realization and discovery. I believe critical thinking is necessary for discovery. In the classroom, I was a questioner, trying to lead students to discovery rather than revealing answers outright. I hope to provide curriculum that makes differentiation easy and leads to those "Aha!" moments.

Homeschooling provided a stable educational experience for our four military kids. My husband is an Air Force retiree with 25 years under his belt. We had the opportunity to live in six different states and Japan and now live in New Mexico where two of our children, one daughter-in-law, and our granddaughter reside.
