A project designed for students to draw, label, and describe the geological features of the ocean floor (including continental shelf, continental slope, continental rise, abyssal plain, ocean trench, and mid-ocean ridge). Students can create their drawing on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white paper or a larger piece of construction paper. With this project, students are given the opportunity to be creative and show they understand the geological features of the ocean.

I'm a cluster/specials teacher with a cart, and my 2nd and 3rd grade students used this rubric to group/team and self-assess usually at the end of the period. I placed the rubric inside clear 10 x 8" frames (amazon sells a pack of 12!) to have on top of each table/group. It worked well for passing out and collecting quickly, and there also was no misplacement.
