Tengo "La Camisa Negra" por Juanes
I love using this song 'La Camisa Negra' by Juanes in my Spanish classes!
It is a great way to use authentic resources in a fun way. This year I used this with the verb 'Tener'. Previous years I've just thrown it in for a "change" in pace.
I spread this out over 5 days. I imagine it'd average 4-6 days.

Spanish word wall, phrase of the week, frequent sayings
47 common Spanish expressions (with pictures!) which can be used as a word wall or phrase of the week. Great way to help students stay in the target language. Also a great way to aid in comprehensible input during class time!
Some examples of expressions are:
"I'm not sure, have a good day, hurry up, can I help you?, that's cool, I don't know, I don't understand, I am joking, turn on the computer, put it away" etc.

Project on Italian food and Italian regions
In this file, there are 3 pages of different assignments for a Food & Culture unit in Italian class.
The first assignment is a choice board of different assignments.
The second assignment is a research task on Italian cuisine and regions. Rubric included.
The third task is a dialogue at an Italian restaurant that the students will present.

Movie talks are an AWESOME way to teach students with engaging lessons! The visual of the movie is a great aid in using comprehensible input in the classroom. I'm always amazed how quickly my students acquire vocabulary through movie talks.

"Sugar" spanish movie worksheets
"Sugar" is a great movie to show spanish 1 or 2 classes. It is about Miguel Santos who comes to the US to play baseball and send money back to help his family. He struggles with language barrier, and different social cues. Eventually he finds his dream of being a major league baseball player to much and goes to NY to find work. There he finds work and a group of rejected spanish baseball players who have created a team of their own.
This is great to show while giving oral assessments.

Roman Influence on the World: Latin, Romance Languages, and English
Students explore the influence of the Latin language on modern Romance languages and English. First, they identify countries in Europe whose national languages are based on Latin due to the Roman Empire's presence there. Then, using Google Translate, students find the equivalent of 7 basic words in each Romance language and record it on the activity sheet. Finally, they think of or search for words in English that use the Latin root of each basic word.
