This is one of my favorite mystery units to teach. The kids learn a lot while having a great time. I create a puzzle with a clue for each group. For example, I would take a piece of colored paper and write a clue on it that would lead to a specific place. (Hint: Use a different color for each group.) I would then write the clue backwards (so that the students would be required to use a mirror to read it) and cut it into a pre-determined number of pieces...I like to have at least 5 pieces.
