This is a 2-3 week unit specifically designed for immersion teachers (grade 7 and 8 but can easily work with grade 6 and 9 too). Students get to choose an artist who is black of their choice and learn about them through their music. This is a great way for students to also learn about French culture! It was a HIT with my classes!
