This pacing guide includes concepts, vocabulary words, essential questions, and a place for teacher reflection on things to change for next year. Curriculum is broken down by one unit per page and is paced by days and quarters on the top row of each unit. One of the biggest complaints I hear from students is that they don't know how to take notes in math! I have organized Geometry lessons into fill-in style notes pages. I feel that many students would fill in a page like this whereas they would not necessarily take notes on a blank sheet of paper. This way I have already organized how I am going to present the lesson and students just have to follow along and fill in their notes page as the lesson is taught. Often I will give out a Notes pack

This 3 page document is a set of guided notes for teaching triangle inequalities and how to compare sides and angles of a triangle. Go through the notes with the class as student write in the notes. Includes problems called "Am I a Triangle?" and listing sides and angles in order from shortest to greatest. Can be used the day after an investigative activity in which students use linguini to make triangles and non-triangles and measure side lengths.

Using a long piece of printer paper or a longer piece of construction paper is best for this foldable. I normally have to show them once how to fold it. It is helpful to have a ruler and possibly compasses for those students that like clean straight lines and nicely constructed circles. For the foldable, I like to break it up over two days since it is a considerable amount of writing. In the past I have allowed students to look through their notes or textbook to find pictures to draw for the cen

I am excited to give this to my students this year; such an upgrade from what I was giving them in the past, even though it is the same information.

These were created using a colorful PowerPoint theme so that you could print them out in color as single slide pages. Back in colorful paper and laminate. Or, just slip them perfectly into a page protector and hang them during your math unit of surface area and volume.
