Presidential Election Lesson- Mock Vote
In this lesson, students are taught about the presidential election process. They learn about the electoral college and electoral votes and also participate in a mock election. After seeing read-alouds of "Duck for President", "Grace for President", and "My Teacher for President", students create a voter registration card and vote. The first day also begins with a lesson on how to respectfully disagree with each other, since voting and elections usually lead to some tense discussions.
