If your students are anything like mine, they get finding area and perimeter mixed up! This fun activity is to help students practice finding both, with a focus on composite figures. How it works: Scavenger hunt activities are such a hit in my class! In the PDF there are 12 pages, each with a question about finding area or perimeter. The teacher should post these around the classroom. Students can pick any of the papers to start with. The bottom half will have a question. Students will complete

PI DAY: WORD JUMBLE: 25 WORDS TO DECIPHER, AND A HIDDEN MESSAGE!
This word jumble is filled with geometry terminology. There is a hidden message about Archimedes, as well. An answer key is provided. Perhaps, the first student to finish the jumble, might be able to win a plastic protractor? It would make it exciting!ng! Have fun! Deciphering skills sharpen awareness.
