"Old Black Fly" as a song!

When I first bought this wonderful book by Jim Aylesworth I always heard the words to the old gospel tune "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho". I decided to create a brand new recording to be used as a Sing-a-Long book with students of all ages where the students respond with the words "Shoo fly shoo fly shoo". It is recorded at 110 mm so it isn't too fast to sing! Enjoy!

“The Bumble Buzz” is an engaging song that can help children develop prelinguistic skills (e.g., joint attention and imitation), articulation, and expressive language. This song may be used as a therapy activity or as a helpful resource to pass along to parents. Hey, Mr. Monkey! (FREE from the "SING!" CD)

I've been doing music therapy and education with preschoolers and kindergarteners for over 20 years. This is a great FREE song for special education, music education, and general education. This song has a chorus that will facilitate the motor and sound sequencing skills of " Ooh, ooh, ooh. Ah, ah ah, and Ee, ee, ee," The verses are written to be acted out. Just follow the directions and use your imagination a little and you'll all be motioning along and having a ball! Use it to expand your les

The Body Rap (View Mix CD by clicking under description.)

This is another great energy releasing song that requires kids to pay attention and move in specific ways as denoted by Margie's rap lyrics. (Sounds like something Blondie in the 80s would rap!) This song asks kids to first clap, then stamp and clap, then hum and stamp and clap - some would call it sequencing or backwards chaining. But whatever it is - it's designed to elicit attention and participation in a controlled physical manner. Oh, yea and it's fun.

"Praise the Farmers" and original song

During the Harvest Season I couldn't find a song that celebrated farmers and their importance to our future. There were the old political songs of my youth but they were long outdated. For years I sang 'Old MacDonald had a Farm', and 'The Farmer in the Dell' but this year it wasn't enough so I write this original melody. The visual for the book can also be found on this site. This Mp3 file has me singing the song as a guide and then a clean performance track following so you can use it with yo

Auditory Bombardment: Initial f

Auditory Bombardment is an evidence/research based therapy procedure to use on a regular basis to enhance phonological/sound awareness. Using Auditory Bombardment will increase your child's rate of sound development as well as increase rate of generalization into conversational speech. Each audio file focuses on a specific sound and is roughly a minute long. The child can listen to these files (recommended with headphones) at an increased volume once (or more!) a day. This traditional counting song encourages children to switch from their singing voice on "Chick-a-ma, Chick-a-ma, Craney Crow, went to the well to wash his toe" to their speaking voice: "When he got there his chickens were gone!. What time old fox?" I have created an accompaniment track that follows the melodic and rhythmic lines and guides the students in 'counting' the hours, encouraging telling time.
