Introduction to black history month
This flipchart is one I use to introduce the concept/idea of black history month to my students. It begins with a song about Martin Luther King, then has picture examples of the words past and present to help my kids understand what we mean when we say the "past". Then there are pages of examples of black athletes, musicians, actors, etc. At the end there is a video "black history alphabet" I hope this simplified way of introducing black history helps your class as much as it helped mine.

Who Took the Apples from the Apple Tree: Fluency Activity
This cute fluency activity is meant for Promithean users and incorporates writing and sequencing in a way young children will love! The story starts with repetitive reading so children learn the chant of the story, then adds the challenge of filling in the blanks. At the end, the children will be asked to put the story in sequential order. This activity can be used in large group, small group, pairs, individual, and independent activity! Great for special education!

Using rulers
This activity is one I created for my little guys to introduce the concept of using a ruler. Each page has a ruler and an object already placed on it as well as a line to reference where the child should be looking to find out how long it is. When a student selects the correct number (for its placement on the ruler) it has a reinforcing sound. It ends with a few pages of "which one is the longest/shortest" to help reinforce the topic.

What does not belong (categories, negation, and differences)
This is one of 2 introductory lessons into sorting and categorization. Essentially children look at a field of 4 pictures and choose the one that is different and doesn't belong. When they select the appropriate picture it plays a reinforcing sound. The pictures begin very basic and get more complex as you go into the chart.

What goes together (a basic sorting and categorizing activity)
This is the second part to my introduction about things that go together like socks and shoes, combs and brushes, etc. In this activity students will put 2 items that go together in its appropriate box. The slides initially start of with 1 of the items already in a box so that student select what goes with it, but it eventually moves to empty boxes that children sort by which things go together.

Animal homes and food
This is a great introduction to where animals live and sleep and what they eat. It includes pages for the children to select which animals live on the farm, they can click the animal and see what it eats, etc. Its a great simplistic activity to introduce these concepts to kids.

Making comparisons Full vs Empty Flipchart
This is an activity that I use to introduce the concept of making comparisons and full vs empty. In this activity, students look at a few examples of items that are full or empty and then have a field of 2 in which they select the one that is full or empty. It plays a reinforcing sound when the child selects the correct answer. All of my flipcharts are created using ActiveInspire Software (that is free to download online)

Handwriting - Letter Formation Video Flipchart, Letters Aa-Zz
Stand back and watch your students be amazed and engaged as letters "magically" form on the Activboard. Students can follow along by air writing. They can also mimic the strokes on their personal whiteboards as the videos play. Each letter has two separate pages, upper and lowercase. There is also a blank page for each letter for students to come to the board and practice. Your kids will love it.

Animal characteristics and body parts flipchart
This is an introduction to animals. I use this chart to discuss basic animal body parts (head, different amounts of legs, beaks, etc) and descriptor words like big, small, striped, etc. This chart also includes a song about animals and their sounds.

Prepositions: top/middle/bottom
This is a great way for students to practice the spatial concept of top vs middle vs bottom. There are pages of items that ask students to select the "top" box or "ball on the bottom shelf". When students select the correct item it plays a reinforcing sound.

US History Review Part 1
This Flipchart series (Parts 1 & 2) covers the first half of US History until Reconstruction and Jim Crow. The file was too large, so here it is split up though you may combine them in any way you see fit. The teachers can customize slides by adding the date and specific book page numbers that are referred to in the slides. Look for the {brackets} to find these areas. Sorting by shape and category (transportation theme)
Your class will sort items into the cars of a train. Each page has 3 cars and 3 categories to sort by with either the category name or picture on the train car. Children can simply move items into the appropriate car.

Mitten counting with 1:1 correspondence
This activity is a winter themed way to practice 1:1 correspondence and number recognition. Children count the number of mittens on the line and the select the appropriate corresponding number. When they select the right answer there is a reinforcing sound. The pages are made for counting to 10, but I added a few slides at the end to expand the counting for 1-20.

Sequencing and height lining up from shortest to tallest
This activity was a great way for my whole class to practice the concept of basic sequencing and putting objects in order. Each page has 3 or 4 of the same item that are in different sizes. The children put the items on the bench from shortest to tallest.

Matching classroom objects
This is a simple matching activity for kids. My class got bored with matching the tangible items in the classroom so i made a flip-chart. Children just select the picture that matches and puts it in the box.

Counting farm animals with 1:1 correspondence
This is a simple activity for students learning to/practicing counting. Students count the animals on the farm and then select the appropriate number. When the correct number is selected it plays a reinforcing sound.

Types:
Animal habitats and foods that animals eat
This is another lesson I use as a whole group introduction to animals. This one discusses what a habitat is, students select the animals that would live in the appropriate habitat (it tells students if they are right or wrong), and then it discusses what animals eat (they get to click on the animal and then it reveals what food they like to eat. This chart also includes a song about animal habitats.
