Who Took the Apples from the Apple Tree: Fluency Activity
This cute fluency activity is meant for Promithean users and incorporates writing and sequencing in a way young children will love! The story starts with repetitive reading so children learn the chant of the story, then adds the challenge of filling in the blanks. At the end, the children will be asked to put the story in sequential order. This activity can be used in large group, small group, pairs, individual, and independent activity! Brave Kate: A SPIRE level 2 story long a silent e
This story, aligned with SPIRE level 2, focuses on the "a-e" phoneme as your students read a cute story about a young girl who rescues a cat from a tree. The last slide includes individual word and sentence practice as well.

Using rulers
This activity is one I created for my little guys to introduce the concept of using a ruler. Each page has a ruler and an object already placed on it as well as a line to reference where the child should be looking to find out how long it is. When a student selects the correct number (for its placement on the ruler) it has a reinforcing sound. It ends with a few pages of "which one is the longest/shortest" to help reinforce the topic.

This is a cute counting activity in the fall. I especially use it when we talk about owls. This is a counting with one to one correspondence activity, where students place the correct amount of owls in the tree.

I spy (shapes)
Students get to play I spy on the promethian board. The first few pages have "obvious" shapes on the page and when students select the shape it plays a reinforcing sound. The last few pages are pictures in which students identify shapes within the picture.

Mitten counting with 1:1 correspondence
This activity is a winter themed way to practice 1:1 correspondence and number recognition. Children count the number of mittens on the line and the select the appropriate corresponding number. When they select the right answer there is a reinforcing sound. The pages are made for counting to 10, but I added a few slides at the end to expand the counting for 1-20.

Blake and Kate's Date: A SPIRE level 2 story
These story for the Promethean is aligned to SPIRE level 2 to assist students in fluency reading regarding the a-e sound. This fun story features Blake and Kate as they make plans for their first date, only for hilarity to arise. Students will enjoy reading this story and practice their a-e sound.

Sequencing and height lining up from shortest to tallest
This activity was a great way for my whole class to practice the concept of basic sequencing and putting objects in order. Each page has 3 or 4 of the same item that are in different sizes. The children put the items on the bench from shortest to tallest.

Lighting the menorah (one to one correspondence)
This is a Chanukkah themed menorah counting activity. Students simply move the flames to "light" the candles on the menorah. Its just another different way to practice counting with one to one correspondence.

Counting farm animals with 1:1 correspondence
This is a simple activity for students learning to/practicing counting. Students count the animals on the farm and then select the appropriate number. When the correct number is selected it plays a reinforcing sound.

Decorating the tree
This is a very basic math activity that is based on following directions, basic labeling, and one to one correspondence. Students are given directions on each page to "put the candycane in the middle of the tree" or "put 4 blue ornaments on the top of the tree".

Acorn counting ... counting to 10 with one to one correspondence
This is a simple counting activity. Each page has a direction like "put 5 acorns in the basket" and the child is expected to do so.

Counting ornaments on a tree
This is another math activity to focus on one to one correspondence. The numbers listed for each page are a number 1-10 but you can easily change it to higher numbers. Students simply put the correct amount of numbers on the tree.

Lighting the Kinara (counting with 1:1 correspondance)
This is a great holiday activity that allows children to practice basic counting with 1:1 correspondence. This chart includes a song about kwanzaa and then each page gives directions like "light 5 candles on the kinara" and students drag the flame to the appropriate number of candles.

Circles vs Triangles.. a review of 2 basic shapes
This activity is simply about identifying circles from a field of 3, identifying triangles from a field of 3, and identifying which one is "NOT" a circle/triangle. In this activity there is also an opportunity for sorting circles and triangles and drawing circles and triangles.
