Crossing the Road Safely - Road Safety
This is a SMART notebook file for teaching a lesson about road safety. It was made for the UN World Road Safety Day, but it can be used anytime of the year to teach a lesson about crossing the road safely.

Public Vs. Private Activity
This is a Smartboard activity reinforcing the concept of private areas and public areas. The activity is designed for both sexes. It has 10 slides of a picture that can either be private or public. There are 3 pictures of boys and girls on either side. They are either fully clothed, in a bathing suit, or naked (as represented by black censor bars!)
The way I use it is have the student define whether the picture is a private or a public place. We then talk why the picture is public or private.

Student Led IEP Meeting Format
This is a very student friendly eight Smart Board slide presentation designed for the student to be an active part in their IEP meeting. It provides an opportunity for them to share their understanding of their IEP and to set personal short and long term goals for life. It also includes such things as addressing accomodations for testing etc. It is now designed as a transition presentation from one grade to the next but could easily be adapted for any IEP review.

How I Teach Non-Standard Operations Part 1
This is a 54 page Smartboard lesson teaching Non-Standard Operations. Non-Standard Operations are pretty much any math operation outside of your normal add, subtract, multiply, ... This is a skill that is common on the ACT test. The format I chose was to give it a "spy" theme. Your students will be excited to try and break the code! The students learn the code and use it to find the answers. The magnifying glass will help to reveal them.

Connect 4 Game Simplifying Monomials Review
This game consists of up to 30 questions for a friendly classroom game of connect 4. This game is easily adapted to other topics as well. (You can easily change this to simplifying monomials and polynomials!)

Race Car Review - Smart Notebook File
Race Car Review! This game is great for reviewing multiple choice style questions, or any questions that can quickly and easily be checked. Students will work in groups and come up to the front of the room to grab one question. They will take that question back to their group to work on and then check the answer with the teacher. If their answer is correct they move their team's car on the smartboard forward. The first team across the smartboard wins!
