The product is the first lesson in a unit on British detective fiction. It covers the history of the genre from 1700 to 1945 CE and demonstrates how the crime story evolved into the detective novel through an analysis of emerging genre characteristics. At the end of the presentation is the full text of a lecture to accompany the presentation.
