Have any teens who say they hate poetry activities? They love music - and this two-day lesson is a great way to bridge that love into an engaged interest in poetry. Both immersed in symbolism and transcendentalism - Walt Whitman's "When I Heard the Learn'd Astronomer" is compared and contrasted with "The Scientist" by Coldplay for middle (I suggest grade 8) and any year of high school.
