This unit was made to go Patricia Polacco's book The Junkyard Wonders. Included are 18 pages of activities to challenges your students to think more deeply about the story. The unit was created with the 4th and 5th grade Common Core Standards in mind. Topics explored are theme, setting, character traits, visualizing, and many more. I am proud of this and have received several since in the total amount of $11,500. I am so comfortable writing grants, I enjoy doing so as it feels like winning the lottery when awarded.
