Polygon Riddles with ChatterPix
Download the ChatterPix app for ios
Then kids choose one of the polygon cards and draw a color example of their polygon in the box. They will answer simple questions about the attributes and then use the attributes to write a who am I riddle about their assigned polygon. Once they have this sheet completed they will be able to use the chatterPix app to import their polygon and record their polygon saying their 30 second or less riddle!

Root Words at Work: Help Students Understand Words in all Subject Areas!
Students use the printable to write the root word, its meaning and brainstorm words that share the common root.
This strategy can be used in science, social studies with technical vocabulary from a unit of study.
Younger students could find and write the words with a given root so they are able to understand the similarities in their meanings.

Created by SETI scientist Frank Drake, the Drake Equation is a hypothetical determination of the number of intelligent civilizations in our galaxy capable of communicating with Earth. Each of the eight variables in the equation have interesting implications. Originally designed as a note taking exercise, this lesson plan has numerous links to the sciences and the humanities.
