"Table Texting" is a fun, interactive strategy you can use with any piece of text or topic. The key is to pose a higher-level question that encourages thinking among students. Students respond to the question in writing. The teacher or facilitator collects the papers and redistributes them. Students get to read other responses and reply. Scatterplot Project Using Real Data
Students are asked to find an example of time-series data in which the dependent variable (y) varies linearly with time (X). The data should have a strong positive or negative correlation. Students will be asked to:
Make a scatter plot of the data.
Use a straight edge to draw a line of best fit.
Find the equation of the line where they must show work for how they determined this.
Use their equation to predict the value of the variable in 2012 and 2018.

Free Rules, Rewards, and Consequence Charts
I use these three charts in my classroom to display my rules, rewards, and consequences. I used the acronym FOCUS since I am redirecting students behavior. I also use a clip chart to record students positive and negative behavior and these charts coincide with it. I have found that having the rules, rewards, and consequences posted is always a reminder of my classroom expectations.
