This lesson is part of my community helpers unit. On each page there is a question such as where do you go to pray? a visual cue like a woman praying, and 3 choices of locations to choose from. When the child selects the correct answer it says the models the words for the location.

This is an interactive lesson that I use once I have covered basic community helpers and what they use. In this activity is asks a question like "what do firemen drive to a fire?" Mat Man Creation Flip Chart

All about community helpers including doctors and firefighters
This is an introductory lesson to community helpers. There is a song about helpers and pictures of 11 different helpers and a brief description of what they do. Then the last section is a question format such as "who helps put out fires" and your children should select the correct picture (with a reinforcing sound for choosing correctly).

What does not belong (categories, negation, and differences)
This is one of 2 introductory lessons into sorting and categorization. Essentially children look at a field of 4 pictures and choose the one that is different and doesn't belong. When they select the appropriate picture it plays a reinforcing sound. The pictures begin very basic and get more complex as you go into the chart.

What goes together (a basic sorting and categorizing activity)
This is the second part to my introduction about things that go together like socks and shoes, combs and brushes, etc. In this activity students will put 2 items that go together in its appropriate box. The slides initially start of with 1 of the items already in a box so that student select what goes with it, but it eventually moves to empty boxes that children sort by which things go together.

Letter Formation using Lines and Curves ActivInspire Flipchart
In this flipchart, students will use different lines/curves to form upper case letters. There are different degrees of difficulty. It starts with the letter to drag the pieces over, then fill in the missing letters with no supports (two pages of this) then creating all of the letters with no supports. Protein Synthesis and mRNA Replication
This flipchart goes over the basics of protein synthesis. It contains a Venn Diagram of the differences between DNA and RNA, interactive slides to illustrate the production of mRNA and a diagram accompanied by a flow chart to illustrate the steps of protein synthesis. There is also a web link that illustrates the process of protein synthesis. The student handouts can be used as a foldable which gives a nice one page sheet for the notes. Just copy the two pages 1-2 sided rotated.

Orton-Gillingham Based Hard G Soft G Lesson PROMETHEAN Flip Chart
I create interactive flip charts that teach Orton-Gillingham based phonics and spelling lessons! This lesson teaches the rules for spelling words with hard g or soft g. There is also a code and read practice page created that may be printed from the flip chart. I hope my flip charts are as useful to you as they've been for me when teaching regular ed, ELL or dyslexic students!

Protein Synthesis (Transcription and Translation) Manipulative
This flipchart demonstrates both transcription and translation for high school biology. The original strand of DNA is quite long (about 40 bases), but you can model as much or as little of it as you would like. The translation page allows you to match a tRNA to a codon and make a chain of amino acids.
I usually use this as I teach protein synthesis and as a review. It is often a 'lightbulb moment' for many of my students!
