Autism: My Body Hurts
When a child with autism is sick or in pain, it is very hard for them to identify or express the way they are feeling.Within this packet is a "My Body Hurts" chart. The chart has a body with major body areas identified, such as: head, eyes, throat, arm, stomach, leg, ankle, toes and etc.The "My Body Hurts" also has an area on "My Body is Feeling..." and a listing of possible reasons such as: hot, cold, itchy, aches, bleeding, runny, better and etc.The "My Body Hurts" also has a "My pain level

Worry Monsters
Many children have worries. To help children cope, adults can encourage young children to draw or print their worries and in turn externalize these challenging emotions. With the children and families that I work with, we like to draw our worries on "Worry Monsters." The worry monsters can then hold onto the worry so that the child does not have to. This is one aspect of OuTcomes Therapy's Calming Kit. We will be posting more items in the coming weeks to help children calm, regulate and focus.

Erin's Law Presentation
It is state law in Illinois and at least 19 other states that each year every student in grades K-12 will receive instruction defining sexual abuse and ways to get help. As fantastic as this law is, I have yet to find affordable and effective lesson plans on safe and unsafe touch. I try to provide you an outline here and some activities that you can modify for grades K-9th grade.
