These questions and pictures were taken from Chris Van Allsburg’s Mysteries of Harris Burdick website. I have put them together and formatted them so they could be cut into strips for each student. I use these question strips after we have read through the book as a whole class. Students choose one of the stories and are given the question strip as a way to inspire ideas. Fictional Narrative Writing Plan
I was struggling to have my students plan out their writing and could not find anything on tpt to assist so I decided to make my own! This plan is so scaffolded that all of my different-leveled learners were able to write an extensive narrative that was both creative and unique. This worked really well for my 5th graders but I think it could work well for any grades 3rd-12th.
