TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have almost 15 years in the public secondary classroom. I have taught ninth through twelfth grade ELA classes ranging from intensive to Honors level and AP. More than anything, my mission is to create a positive educational experience my students will always remember!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Creativity is always my number one priority. How can I make a standards based rigorous lesson fun at the same time. I am constantly looking at my curriculum and revising for increased engagement without sacrificing the integrity of the learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was privileged to serve as Columbia County Teacher of the Year for the 2014 school year.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a Mom first and foremost to three beautiful kids. One of my children is autistic, so I have learned about the struggles of exceptionalities in the classroom firsthand. This has helped me be a more effective teacher because I constantly reflect on my learning environment through the eyes of my students, especially those who have special needs.
