The Food For The Future Song

What will we be eating many years into the future? This is the song that accompanies the new children's book about sustainable farming by Mia Wenjen. Mia's amazing book shares different ways that people around the world will be growing food and creating a healthier world. The song highlights ideas about farming discussed in the book (like rooftop gardens and harvesting honey) and is a fun way of turning a great kids book into an exciting and engaging unit on food, healthy eating and sustainabi

Click on the preview to download a short sample of this song. This is an original tune I wrote that is compatible with the Science fact from Classical Conversations Cycle 3, week 9. At the beginning of the year, I noticed that both the children I tutor in our CC Community as well as my own three boys, were struggling to remember the weekly science facts. I started putting them to song and within a week the kiddos were back on track! They love and remember them. I think you will find that your ow

This unit is a blast with middle school students! Throughout the unit, learn about the history of jingles through familiar examples. Explore how jingle writing changed over the years with technology, and other methods the music industry uses to advertise products. Summarize the unit by having students try their own hand at writing their own short jingle. My students get especially excited about this unit when I introduce it with a "Guess the Jingle" YouTube video.

Native American folk song: Also know as Hey Yunga, this is an old Native American song that expresses the original singer’s sense of connection to the world around us, and the desire to take care of the world in the same way that we would take care of our family members that we love and cherish. The chorus, Hey Yunga, is made up of vocables, musical syllables that are not words but still express an important message. Vocables are very easy to sing along to, and this whole song is an immediate si

Distance Learning: Don’t Give Up song

In these difficult times, let your children keep up the day by day enthusiasm (in spring and easter) by singing this high-motivation song. The lyrics are aimed at motivating young people not to give up even though the external conditions are adverse. Whether in sports, at school, or in life, they need to understand that success only comes if they work hard for it. If they don't give up, they will be winners. Left and Right is a song to help young folks learn their left and right orientation. The song features children singing about where the hands that point to the numbers 3 and 9 can help them orient left and right. Of course this is dependent on having a regular face clock (not digital). The song also has some echo potential and features Bill Prince with a clarinet obbligato in the background. Teachers have told me that it "really works". This song is from the Mixed Meters for Minors album by Clar
