Relative (adjective) clauses are difficult for students, especially ELLs. Even my more advanced adult learners struggle with adjective clauses, so I try to provide a lot of scaffolding activities. What I found is that my students learn very quickly that nearly every relative (adjective) clause can begin with "that." I wanted to force them to think about other relative pronouns and when to use them. These self-grading digital task cards use the same sentences as my Relative Clause Memory game but
