Introduction to the microscope notes and mini lab
In this "mini e lab" students get to take notes on the different magnifications of the lenses and then get to explore how to use the microscope. This lesson accompanies the picture book What Do You Do With An Idea? by Kobi Yamada. After reading the story aloud, students draw a picture of their own "idea" and answer questions in writing. This resource was created to help students or parents access Google Classroom. It seems like second nature to teachers who use this platform everyday, but it's not so easy for students and parents. I use this to send to parents at the beginning of the year and when I have students access things from home on Google Classroom. It can be frustrating for parents to fight with their kid's Chromebooks and this resource helps ease stress and confusion.

Birthdays in French, Anniversaire Speaking Activity
This is a fun and quick speaking activity. Students watch a 3 minute video where a native speaker (myself) teaches them how to say the date and when their birthday is. They then survey the class and record the date of their classmate's birthdays. They can keep the page in their notes to be sure to wish all their classmates a happy birthday and build community! How to find the volume of an irregular solid with auto grading assessment
