I used this as a presentation that went along with reading The Pardoner's Tale from The Canterbury Tales in my British Literature class. Students get to work with a partner or a small group to research a type of greed in modern day society. The project has two parts. One part is all about creating a Slideshow, Prezi, or a WeVideo to explain the greed they are seeing within a specific company, organization, or person. They are given guiding questions that they must address in their presentation.

There are so many standards to cover in the classroom, that writing some times may fall on the back burner. This is a homework activity that I give my seventh grade parents at open house every year. It really helps me to connect with my kids right away. Parents seem like it and often share valuable information. I always send a thank you note back to the parents that participate wether it be by snail mail or email! In it I include their grade for completeing the assignment, which is always an A!

The Wizard of Oz Novel Unit
This is a 20 day unit over the novel The Wizard of Oz. It has great potential to become a school wide, cross curricular unit if desired. This unit is complete with essential questions, power points (one original and one from a public web site), original rubrics, handouts, and links to free web sites with activities and graphic organizers. We have a class pet bunny named Buddy, and it was their job to imagine what he did after school.
