Tongue-jaw dissociation exercises for speech sound errors
This is a compilation of four homework activities for kids who struggle with tongue-jaw dissociation, or the ability to move their tongue separately from their jaw. This can be at the root of many articulation errors, especially the most common sound errors found in the school system, such as /r/, /l/, /s/, /z/, and /th/. Pictures are included to help the students understand what to do, and the directions for each homework activity are written in simple terms.

R Riddles for Articulation Practice
This powerpoint slideshow was created by Amy Berry and her speech students for articulation practice for the forms of /r/. Each slide contains a riddle for a word that contains the /r/ sound in the initial, medial, or final position. The student should say an /r/ word that he/she thinks solves the riddle. Then the student should hit the arrow key. The targeted /r/ word and an image will appear to tell him/her if he/she was correct.

Slow Paced Reading Passages
This word doc contains multiple passages from famous pieces of literature. Dashes are placed throughout the passages, to remind the student to take a pause and breathe before continuing reading. Especially useful for stuttering and cluttering clients who are unintelligible. Maintaining phonation and over annunciation allows the student to be much more intelligible to a listener.
