This template is a space to write out all the information you need when you are writing a song (but don't want to use sheet music). Essentially, students are able to create a lead sheet and analyze the meter & rhyme scheme. I always encourage my students to write as much info as they possibly can, because they might need to stop and come back to it later. The more information that you have, the better you can remember your original idea/ intent. I use this in my Singer Songwriter class.

Hi! My name is Jacob and I am music educator, special educator and founder of Modified Music-ation: Music + Education for Students with Special Needs. Growing up with a learning disability, I struggled grasping many concepts in school; however, I LOVED playing music. While studying music, I began to make connections with simple melodies and using them as a mnemonic device for sharpening my memory. Since then, I have created a program for students to help them with their memory recognition, be

I use the "1e+a" counting method, but this is in a Word Document so you can edit the chart to use with any counting system. Students can quickly see the names of the different types of notes, how many beats each note gets in specific time signatures, and how many parts of the subdivision each note gets depending on whether they need to subdivide
