Blending and Segmenting Phonemes
This is a phonemic awareness "ring thing" you can use to practice blending and segmenting phonemes in whole or small group. There are 12 pages of cards covering words from 2 sounds up to 6 sounds. I laminate them, punch a hole in the upper left corner, and put them on a 1" binder ring. I start by giving students the phonemes and asking them to blend the words. I move up to giving students the word and asking them to tell me how many phonemes.

Kindergarten sight word picture representations
Kindergarten students often struggle to memorize sight words. I have created a set of 50 sight words and paired each with a picture representation. Several of my kindergarten students have had great success with memorizing sight words because of the associated picture. I printed these, cut them out, and mounted them to card stock. With the picture and sight word mounted on one side of the flashcard, I wrote simply the word on the other.

In this exciting game students practice adding the -ed ending and reading them. Players take turns picking a card and if read correctly by adding the -ed ending they get to keep the card. If they need to try again to read the word with adding -ed they place the card back into the pile. Another version could be played using manipulative's such as cubes or counters. Dolch Pre-Primer Cloze story practice
