Test Taking Strategies / Follow Directions Prank/Fake Quiz
This quiz is a fun and funny way to get students to realize they need to pay attention to directions.
There is a list of numerous steps to complete, which can actually be fun for students. HOWEVER, the first step says to "read all directions before continuing" and the last step says "only do..." so most students mess this up and do all the steps as they go along. SAT Vocabulary Practice Set 1: 30 Fill-in-the-Blank Problems
This is a set of 30 fill-in-the-blank sentence problems to help students study vocabulary words commonly found on the SAT and PSAT. The 30 problems are divided into 3 sets of 10. Trigonometry Golf
I like to call this activity Putt-Putt-Geometry. It is 9 glorious holes of trigonometry application! This works great as a Trig unit project, end of year project, or test review (maybe 1 or 2 holes for review). The students can work in groups, pairs, or individuals. If your students are not proficient with Trig, or you have not covered it yet, each hole can be done using the Pythagorean Theorem instead - simply tweak the directions a bit. I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine do!
