Research based brief survey to determine student learning modalities.
It is important to understand how your students learn best and differentiate instruction to meet their individual needs.

As a teacher it is important to differentiate groups based from different criteria. I differentiate groups by readiness (knowledge level), Modality (Learning Style) and Personality.I utilize surveys on day 1 to assist in differentiating instruction and grouping.

Survey is broken into 3 sections including Visual, Auditory and Tactile/Kinesthetic. Each section contains 11 questions that require a yes or no answer from the students. At the conclusion of the worksheet, students total each section with the highest total identifying their learning style. The worksheet also has a prediction portion for students to complete before the survey. Excellent worksheet for special education or general education classrooms. I have personally used this survey for middle school and high school classes. On average it takes about 20 minutes to complete depending on student reading levels. Assume 30 minutes for special education classrooms with modifications of questions read and explained.
