How I Teach Trigonometry Ratios Part 1

Solving Right Triangle Activity
If a student steals a cookie...
Directions: Place students into 5 - 6 groups. In case you want, I included a random group generator into the SMART file for you. Students solve the problems on a whiteboard/paper. If the team gets it right, send one person from the group up to the board to pop open a box to see what they get...but be careful! There are many game changers in there just for you...and them! Introduction to Basic Trigonometry Activities for the Smart Board
Students are much more successful with solving basic introductory trigonometry problems when they spend time learning opposite, adjacent, and hypotenuse and learning how to decide what trigonometric ratio to use when. This SMART Board notebook activity provides students the opportunity to practice this vocabulary. It also provides a 'pull tab' with answers. The activity ends with a little trigonometry comic relief.

Giza Pyramid introduction to Volumes of Pyramids
