Order of Operations - Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally Card

This card is a handy reminder of the mathematical order of operations: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction. My students use this acronym and it really helps them to quickly remember the order of operations. Enjoy! Also view my "Algebra-Beginning Expressions / Variables Math Center.

Math BEDMAS breakout - space themed

This is kind of like a quick online escape room which includes BEDMAS and rounding. Your goal is to teleport back home after crash-landing on Mars, before you run out of oxygen. It works pretty well as a short activity to introduce these math topics or work on after a quiz. This is my first upload to TPT, but I made it with a friend and usually mine aren't so goofy. Also, none of the images are mine. I found them on google.

This is kind of like a quick online escape room and choose your own adventure story which includes simple square roots, rounding, factors, and multiples. There's a zombie invasion at your school, and the goal is to save Mr. Uler (Get it, r uler?), but you can change the names of the teachers to personalize it. It works pretty well as a short activity to introduce these topics, or work on after a quiz. Also, the pictures I used are not mine. I found them all on google.

As a Junior High Math Teacher, I used this Quarterly Student Self-Assessment (in English and Spanish) to help students run their Student Led Conferences. My students completed it after seeing their grade and going through their portfolios. I kept it to one page so they would also have time to go through their portfolios with their parents. The classroom behavior section allows parents to see what you have to say about their child in case you are busy with another conference.

This can be used as a fun way to introduce or review integers and BEDMAS, and is best used as an activity after a quiz. This could be called a breakout, but it's more like a choose your own adventure story where you battle pokemon, like in pokemon go!(I do not own any of these images, they are from google.)

Here’s a sample of my Toilet Tally or Bathroom Log. I modify the names and print per month giving me five prints that I attach to the classroom wall near the door. I would assign a student per week to fill up the dates that corresponds to the day. This log serves a dual purpose like addressing concerns related to unnecessary toilet breaks and as well as facilitating communication with parents when necessary. Hope this helps you in any way as it did for me.If you wish to remove the watermark, you

Order of Operations Hopscotch!

This resource is the perfect supplemental aid when teaching Order of Operations to 5th graders! I have noted it to be 5th grade specific because instead of the "Exponents" step, I have changed it to "Brackets" as the standards outline. Hope you enjoy!

5th Grade GSE Math Skill Mastery Chart Order of Operations & Whole Numbers

Utilizing this chart helps to determine if a student has mastered the required skills in Order of Operations and Whole Numbers. Each chart is individualized, so teachers can write the student's name on the chart and record scores once a student completes an assessment. This makes it easy for teachers to see which students need additional instruction and practice, and which students are ready to move on to more challenging work. Keeping these records supports student mastery before the Milestone
