Word wall and flash cards consists of vocabulary pertaining to the Photosynthesis Unit for the NYS Regents level Living Environment class. The Vocabulary words for this unit were chosen specifically for a Sheltered ENL class and were simplified to make memorization and understanding more attainable.I created this activity to go with its respective word wall/flashcards. iPads for ELLs Winning Grant Proposal
This is the text for a successful grant proposal I wrote which earned $5500 to buy iPads for newcomer ELL students. I describe in detail the many ways iPad technology is beneficial to language learners. Although this was a districtwide proposal, it is focused mostly on the needs of secondary newcomer ESL students. Summer School Grant Proposal
This grant proposal involves a four-week summer school session for roughly 60 students who need support over the summer in order to maintain current academic standing and experience a "jump start" to help them transition into the next school year. This particular grant is for Kindergarten students entering First, but could be modified for other grade levels. The grant also involves both ESL and classroom teachers, to better meet student needs.
