My name is Dr. Dayana Philippi, but my friends call me Dr. Dee. I have dedicated many years to serving my community as a schoolteacher, principal, researcher, and currently language access provider of interpretation and translation in 300+ languages for K-12 schools. But by far, my most demanding and rewarding job is raising 6 children alongside my husband, Salem. I founded EchoED (www.EchoEDnow.com) to new and newcomer (immigrant and refugee) parents like my own parents, make sense of the complex U.S. public school system. We are dedicated to helping teachers engage limited English proficient (LEP) parents and caregivers in the home language, around the clock, sharing the same information orally or in writing, that others receive about their children’s education in an accurate and timely manner.
