Dinosaur Songs with science facts (Lyrics only)
What child does not love to learn about dinosaur songs? For example, "Well, let me tell you a story about ole' T-Rex. Great big legs, but itty bitty pecs!" This is a song I wrote and recorded. It's based on the book Stone Fox, by John Reynolds Gardiner. SPOILER ALERT!!! The song mentions key parts of the story, including the end of the dogsled race.

This song is called "New Shoes" and my students absolutely love it! We have so much fun singing and dancing along to this little toon and celebrating our shoes : ) I find that it goes nicely with Pete the Cat. I like to use it for Shared Reading as well.

The Shortcut Song (Donald Crews)
This is a song based on Donald Crews' Shortcut. It follows the sequence of the story line and builds suspense similar to the story. Other teachers have used this for multiple purposes in the reading and writing workshops such as for an extension lesson, to compare and contrast, to analyze how an author (or songwriter) builds suspense, for teaching sequence, for character analysis, and more.
