This is a good end-of-the-year project. Each student receives a different list based on a profession that they are interested in, or might go into. Two of the disciplines (Medical & Psych.) involve knowledge of Greek, and so they require first having done my mini-unit on the Greek alphabet (also for sale). - Medical (also Includes the even-more-important Greek forms.) - Legal - Judicial - Philosophical - Theological - Musical (Mostly Italian terms) - Dental - Psychological (Mainly Greek wo

It's All Greek (and Latin) to Me! Bulletin Board Prefixes and Suffixes

There are thousands of words in the English Language that come from Greek and Latin. Speaking fluent Greek as a kid in school always helped me figure out harder words based on their prefixes and suffixes. With the Common Core, middle elementary school students have to master common prefixes and suffixes to learn the meaning of words. This is a bulletin ready to go to help students visualize, review, and practice common prefixes and suffixes from the Greek and Latin languages. Use as flashcards,

In order to keep the input in a CI Latin classroom comprehensible, it is important to keep certain useful questions, words, and phrases on display at all times. I created this document to help make three very useful anchor charts for my own classroom: one of useful phrases (e.g. Quid significat?, Gratias, etc.), one of useful interrogatives that begin with qu- and cu- (e.g Quis?, Cui?, etc.), and one of other useful interrogatives (Ubi?, Quot?, etc.) I did my best to be conservative with paper

Why Google Translate Doesn't Work

I created this mini poster after a few student comments about why did they need to learn the language when there is Google. I used Chp.13 of the Ecce Romani textbook and translated it using my brain and Google translate, showing both translations side-by-side under the original Latin text. This is good for all grade levels and any language even though the poster is based off of a Latin text.

I was searching for this item for my classroom and thought other chorus, music or latin teachers may want to use this punny poster as well! It features the term Laudamus Te, but replacing the "mus" with a moose! The poster should line up appropriately when opened in powerpoint- TPT for some reason misaligns it in the thumbnail.
