Speaking and presenting in an English classroom are essential skills that need to be practiced and assessed regularly. Here is my rubric that I use to assess students' presentations for my high school ELA classes. I use proficiency marks, not letter grades, but it's a google file, so you can easily edit to your own needs. It's pretty easy to use during the presentation and also allows me to give them feedback as an audience member as well. Let me know what you think.

You can show your students these as a model to get started for "The Yellow Wallpaper" Artistic Activity, and after the first time you assign it, you will have awesome examples of your own :) The students will then present their creations to the class in a short 1-2 minute presentation. Of course, if you do not have the time, you can always do away with the presentation aspect of the assignment.
