Webquest:Living healthy in hispanohablante neighborhoods. Realidades 3 Ch. 3
This is a webquest where students investigate options for healthy living in one of seven 'hipster' neighborhoods in Spanish speaking capitols. Students pretend to be living in the neighborhood and, in conjunction with google maps, look for ways to improve their eating, exercise, and general heath. After students choose their neighborhood, they follow these steps:
1) Use google maps to find a restaurant that serves healthy food. They then use google street view and the web to answer questions

La comida regional webquest
This is an activity to be used as a journal entry or writing assignment. The students are provided with links to recipe pages for five different Spanish speaking countries with very different cuisines. This lesson can be used over a few days in the computer lab, or shortened to only include a couple of countries if time is limited.I have also done this lesson in groups of five, in which every student was responsible for studying one country, then presenting to their group as a speaking activity.
