This is a Power Point file to go along with the PDF file for my Common Core Music Composition. Students use a table to add note values, one beat per box for 16 beats. Students add words so the syllables will fit the rhythm and the words will rhyme. Students create a melody using their recorder and the notes B,A,and G. Students transfer their information to a staff to create their own composition.

This is a fun and engaging song that I used with instruction during our measurement unit. It is to the tune of Ariana Grande's song "7 Rings." Before you think about the words of the song, remember that you only play the instrumental version with the kids. As I used it in instruction, my kids knew measurement like never before.
